A couple of weeks ago, in 9 Types Of Contrast Pt. 1, we started to look at some inspiration on how different types of contrast can be used to create focal points and lead a viewer though a composition. We looked at Contrast Of Tone, Contrast Of Hue, and Contrast Of Saturation. In this post we have some inspiration on three more types of contrast: Contrast Of Size, Contrast Of Temperature, and Contrast Of Direction.
Contrast Of Size
Big meets little, many meets few, plenty meets scarcity. A tiny blob of orange on a big purple composition will be more interesting than if there were equal amounts of each.

Contrast Of Temperature
Warm meets cool. Get that color wheel back out: the warmest point on the color wheel is half way between red and orange, and the coolest point is directly opposite, between blue and green.
